Whistler ski season 2022/2023 ✅ A total of 56 d Whistler ski season 2022/2023 ✅

A total of 56 days on the mountain - it's been a good'un!

Kinda sad it's officially over and I'll miss kamikaze-ing down the mountain with zero form, but I'm excited for the summer adventures to begin! Time to dust off the hiking boots 🥾

Making friends with the Whiskey Jacks of Whistler Making friends with the Whiskey Jacks of Whistler ❄

The friendly and fearless Whiskey Jack, aka the Canada or Grey Jay, is the national bird of Canada. One of the world's smartest birds, it has been quick to learn that humans are an excellent source of food and is not afraid to put this theory to the test! Up on the mountains in Whistler, they provide a great source of entertainment for the long lines that form at Harmony, Symphony and 7th Heaven alpine chair lifts, where they will perch on ski poles, hands and even helmets to scope out the area before swooping down to snatch the next fallen crumb.

Even though it's tempting, it's important to not intentionally share your snacks with these little cuties. Not only is human food not a part of their natural diet and can be unhealthy for them, but in the summer season they will hide their stash of stolen food from hikers and campers, increasing the risk of attracting bears to trails and campsites.
